One of my favorite things about summer-time,

is that the more relaxed schedule

allows for more opportunities to do projects.

This particular project I have been thinking about and planning for some time now.

It was fun to finally get to go shopping with my sweet princess,

find a variety of fun fabrics,

and spend the day being creative.

Girly Bibs

Necessity is the mother of invention!

I started making these bibs when our second born was about a year old. I was tired of constantly doing laundry for the 3-4 outfits that got dirtied every day during meals and snacks. There were two types of bibs I could find in my many searches, the ones that were large enough to cover the front of a toddler, fell apart at the sight of the wash machine; the ones that were a nice sturdy cloth that could hold up for a few washings, were so small that they allowed most of the food to soil the clothes.

I was buying and trying new bibs nearly every month.

I decided to take it upon myself and make what I knew would work.
(I only wish I had thought of doing so sooner.)

These bibs measure a generous 17 inches wide by 19 inches long.

They are great for the self-feeding toddler ~

as they cover much more than most bibs on the market.

(They are also wonderful for infants~

as you can use the extra length to help wipe up messes.)

These bibs are made form 100% cotton flannel.

They are double sided ~ to allow for more versatility.

The flannel makes them absorb much more of the mess ~

and best of all they do NOT fall apart in the wash.

Body Soap

Our latest venture has been to make body soap that is healthy (instead of harmful to your skin).

After much research, into both the benefits of home-made soap and the process of making soap, we have found a wonderful milk based soap recipe that has such wonderful things in it.

Lovely Lavendar

is good for all skin types,

is made with:

mineral water,

olive and coconut oils,

fresh ground lavendar,

and lavendar essential oils.

Oatmeal Oasis Soap,

is best for oily to combination skin,

is made with:

fresh goat milk,

olive and coconut oils,

finely ground oatmeal (for extra deep cleansing),

and Jasmine oils

Shepherd's Pride Soap,

is best for normal to dry skin,

is made with:

fresh goat milk,

olive and coconut oils,

lanolin and aloe vera gel,

and Jasmine oils.

They cost $5.00 each (plus s&h if applicable).

Our over sized bibs are made of 100% cotton flannel. They are reversible with a different print on each side. These are the perfect bibs for your toddler as she begins to feed herself. They cover the front of your little lady and absorb nearly every spill. Best of all, they do not fall apart in the washer or dryer like the vinyl ones.
